Polished stainless and not chrome, so make sure you're comparing properly - the finishes do look different, like you can tell 14K from 18K gold or maybe more properly, white gold. Valli&Valli makes a few similar simple and elegant models, but has left the USA market and while their prices from Italy are ok, shipping makes that a no deal anymore- I tried, and the advertisers of these products on ebay or thefind.com don't have them but try to sell something else. This one goes in a guest powder room where it replaced a nice simple brush, but the change it makes to the room surprised even me. Highly recommended.
